About this event
The chemical industry is going through major cyclical and geopolitical/economic disruptions on a global basis. These developments have had a major effect on the chemical industry M&A activity. Not only has it reduced the number of transactions, it has also changed the nature of which transactions are getting done, by sector and by geography.
We have assembled a panel of seasoned chemical industry investment bankers from four firms. The panel will share its views of what is happening in the industry, what chemical companies can and cannot do in the current M&A environment, the challenge facing private equity firms who are trying to exit mature chemical businesses they have invested in, and the options available to industry players who are trying to achieve their strategic and financial objectives in this disrupted market.
Peter Young, head of programs and board member of Société and a board member and the CEO of Young & Partners, the chemicals and life sciences investment banking firm, will be the moderator and a panelist.

Greg-Henri Bize, Managing Director, Evercore
Greg-Henri Bize is a managing director in Evercore’s strategic advisory practice, covering the ingredients and the specialty chemicals/ industrial minerals sectors since early 2012.
Mr. Bize has advised on a range of complex sell-side, buy-side, and public transactions. Recent deals include advising NCH on its merger with Solenis, Astorg on the acquisition of a majority stake in Solabia from TA Associates; Innophos on the comprehensive extension of its debt; Alltech on its comprehensive refinancing; Riverside on its sale of HTBA to Miura Partners; KPS on the acquisition of Tate & Lyle’s remaining ownership interest of 49.7% in Primient; the IFF Board in the context of the sale of its Pharma Solutions business to Roquette; the special committee of Diversey on the proposed take-private of Diversey by Solenis; Ardian on its acquisition of a majority stake in Florida Food; and Ardian on the sale of its portfolio company Kersia to IK Investment Partners.
Mr. Bize, who started his career in the generalist M&A team of ABN Amro in Amsterdam in 2007 before moving to London in 2011. In 2012, he joined The Valence Group, and Jefferies in 2014. He then joined Evercore in 2015, and relocated to Evercore’s New York offices in 2023. |

David Bradley, Managing Director and Global Head of Chemicals, Santander
David has 30+ years of investment banking experience focused on chemicals. Prior to Santander, David was a Vice Chairman and Joint Global Head of Industrials at Jefferies for 12 years. Prior to Jefferies, David was the Global Head of Chemicals at Blackstone, UBS and J.P. Morgan. David holds a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Birmingham. |

Federico Mennella, Managing Director and the Head of the Chemicals & Materials Science Practice, DC Advisory
Federico has 30+ years of global investment banking experience across M&A and capital markets. Federico’s expertise includes mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, strategic advisories and fairness opinions for corporations, private equity groups, board of directors and significant shareholders involving Fortune 500 companies and private and public entities in the U.S., Latin America, Europe and Asia across the Industrials sector. Prior to DC Advisory, Federico was Global Head of Rothschild & Co’s Chemicals & Materials Science business and had previously run a similar practice at Lincoln International. Federico has also held senior positions at Peter J. Solomon Company, JP Morgan (where he was Global Head of Chemicals, Consumer and Industrials M&A), Deutsche Bank and Lazard in New York and Frankfurt. Federico is on the board of Société de Chimie Industrielle. Federico has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Yale University. |

Peter Young, CEO and Managing Director, Young & Partners (Moderator)
Mr. Young manages Young & Partners, the Chemicals and Life Science investment bank and strategic advisory firm. Young & Partners was founded in 1996. Mr. Young has been an investment banker serving the chemical and life science industries for many years. Prior to 1996, Mr. Young was global head of the chemical industry investment banking groups at Lehman Brothers, Salomon Brothers and Schroders. Early in his career while with Bain & Co., Mr. Young provided strategic advice to major life science, medical device and chemical companies. He was also a senior member of J.H. Whitney & Co., the venture capital firm, an investor in healthcare, pharmaceutical and biotech, and technology companies.
As an investment banker, Mr. Young has been a financial advisor to a wide variety of leading life science and chemical companies globally with regard to strategic financial advice, mergers, acquisitions, restructurings and capital raising.
Mr. Young received an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School (Baker Scholar with Highest Distinction), an M.S. in Accounting from New York University and a B.A. in Economics from Yale University. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Chartered Global Management Accountant and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. |
