Student Career Panel and Networking Event
About this event
Where are the jobs today for chemistry, chemical engineering and life sciences students
Entering the chemical and life science industry today offers many opportunities, but navigating this shifting and highly competitive landscape can be daunting for early career professionals. Join us for a lively discussion on where and how to position yourself for success in today’s frenetic business and academic market.
Our panelists will share their insights on:
- Geographic hot spots, allowing you to identify established innovation hubs and emerging regional markets for current hiring
- The balance of opportunities between established companies versus startups, empowering you to weigh career trajectories, risks, and cultural differences between agile early stage firms and long-standing industry giants
- Specific job specialties and skills that are in high demand, helping you pinpoint technical know-how and competencies that command a premium in the market
Following the discussion, panelists will answer questions from the audience. You are also invited to remain for a 30 minute networking session where you can meet the panelists and other attendees.
Marc Reisch, Société Education Committee Chair, will moderate the panel.
